Holding a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Corporate Finance from UC Berkeley and a master’s degree in corporate finance from UCLA, Larry worked at PwC for more than 35 years, including an 18-month stint in Venezuela and leading the firm’s real estate investment trust (REIT) industry practice. During this time, Larry also served as an accounting fellow with the Office of the Chief Accountant of the Securities and Exchange Commission. Formal retirement in 2007 didn’t slow him down. He serves as a board member and audit committee chair for Cole Credit Property Trust IV and several other not-for-profit entities, the City of Dallas Park & Recreation Board. Hal Berry

Treasurer

While living in Bowles Hall for four years, Hal earned his Bachelors degree in Business Administration in
1958 and then spent 3 years as a Supply Officer in the U.S. Navy. He then joined the accounting firm of
Arthur Andersen, became a CPA, and specialized in their emerging businesses division. Next in his
career he worked as Controller and CFO for several different high school and college textbook publishing
companies, among them University of California Press. In 1986 he started his own computer accounting
consulting firm, Micro Accounting Solutions. That was just early enough to catch the wave of conversion
of systems to handle the Y2K compliance. After the Bowles alumni started their efforts to help the Hall
regain its traditions and fraternity, Hal joined the effort in 2007 working with another alum through
several iterations of financial projections to see if operation by the alumni was feasible. As things
evolved, after the Bowles Hall Foundation was incorporated in 2008 he took on the role of Treasurer in 2009.
